Who Can Transfer IGL Ownership?
The ownership of an IGL gas connection can be transferred under specific circumstances. The process is typically required for new property owners to have the gas connection registered in their name. This is applicable in cases of:
- Property Sale: When a property with an existing IGL connection is sold to a new owner.
- Death of the Connection Holder: Transferring the connection to a legal heir after the death of the original owner.
- Inheritance: The connection is being transferred due to inheritance or succession of the property.
IGL Official Fee for Transfer
As per the official IGL guidelines, there is a fee associated with the ownership transfer process. This fee is for the administrative and documentation work involved in updating the records.
Official Transfer Charge: ₹500 + GST (Total ₹590/-)
Note: This fee is typically levied in the form of a charge on the upcoming gas bill after the transfer is successfully processed. Additional fees may apply for notarized documents, as required.
